HARVEY TABBED HEAD GOLF COACH AT PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Theron Harvey, currently the Head Golf Professional at the ACE Club in Lafayette Hill, PA, has been named Head Golf Coach at Philadelphia University, announced Director of Athletics Tom Shirley on Monday.
"Theron is a Professional Golfer's Association (PGA) golf professional and a really nice addition to our staff. Last year we secured the ACE Club as our home course, and now with the addition of an elite coach, our student-athletes will have great resources to work with," said Shirley.
Harvey has a plethora of elite golf experience having been elected to the PGA in 2001. He will continue his duties as Head Golf Professional at the ACE Club while coaching at Philadelphia University.
The ACE Club, formerly known as Eagle Lodge Country Club, is located in Lafayette Hill, PA, and measures 7,500 yards to the furthest tees and plays to a par of 72. The course hosts the annual Exelon Challenge each summer, a four-man PGA pro event. Harvey has also managed the George A. Crump Memorial Tournament, commonly known as the Crump Cup, which draws 120 middle level amateurs worldwide.
Before settling in Philadelphia, Harvey was an Assistant Golf Professional at the Pine Valley Golf Club (NJ), Monroe Golf Club (NY), Collier's Reserve Country Club (FL) and Las Cruces Country Club (NM). He has been nominated for the ‘Assistant PGA Golf Professional of the Year' award four times.
Harvey is a member of the PGA of America's Ambassador Golf Travel Program and has appeared on shows such as Comcast Sports Network's ‘Playing with the Pro', ABC's ‘Tips from the Pro', along with hosting Golf Central and Golf Academy Live on The Golf Channel. He has also presented two annual Rules of Golf and Etiquette Seminars at ACE.
He attended New Mexico State University and graduated with a business degree in professional golf management and marketing.
He currently resides in Philadelphia, PA with his wife Theresa and son Tristan (12).
