ETTRICK, Va. – Finishing up a perfect spring break, the University of Bridgeport's women's lacrosse team registered a 10-8 win at Virginia State on Friday afternoon. The victory puts the Purple Knights' record at 3-0 this season.
Sophomore Tara Dimaio led the way with one of her best games as a Purple Knight. The Long Island native supplied half of the Purple Knights' goals, in addition to a team-high seven ground balls and an assist.
Max McDermott, who entered the game with 12 goals across two games, added three more tallies on Friday. She currently ranks fourth in the CACC in goals this season.
Danielle Kreitler and Emily Stuart wrapped up the scoring with a goal apiece. Stuart also led UB with six draw controls.
Junior goalkeeper Jacklyn Mellia earned her third win in net, finishing the game with a much-needed six saves.
