Philadelphia, Pa. (10/14/23) The Dominican University New York women's soccer team fell to the Tigers of Holy Family University in conference action on Tiger Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
The Lady Chargers fall to 3-5-3 overall and 2-2-3 in conference play after the loss while the Tigers improve to 3-5-3 overall and 2-2-3 in the CACC.
Goalkeeper Stella Paton (Edinburgh, Scotland) made four saves, all in the second half, for Dominican but suffered the loss. Jaina Preuhs recorded three saves and earned the win for the Tigers in goal.
Back to back goals by the Tigers gave them an early 2-0 first half lead. Alyssa Hooten scored the first goal of the game at 18:09 and 22 seconds later Allison Looper extended the lead for HFU to 2-0. The score would remain 2-0 for the rest of the opening half.
At the 57:12 mark, Sabine Sorensen (Ballerup, Denmark) put the Lady Chargers on the board with her first goal of the season. Stella Koster (Saarbruecken, Germany) recorded her team leading sixth assist of the season on the goal.
The Tigers would hold onto the 2-1 lead and completed the victory. Holy Family outshot Dominican 17-12.
Isabella Wysocki (Rahway, N.J.) led the Lady Chargers in shots with three. Olivia Gouldsbury (New Milford, N.J.), Koster, and Sorensen each finished with two shots.
The Lady Chargers return to action next Saturday on the road as they travel to Thomas Jefferson University to take on the Rams at 12:00 PM.
