Men's Basketball Falls Short at Caldwell, 93-87
Tim Dawson and D’Andre Collins combine for 47 points on 14-of-28 shooting.
CALDWELL, N.J. – Coming off a narrow win over the weekend, the University of Bridgeport's men's basketball team was defeated at Caldwell on Wednesday by a score of 93-87.

The second half told the story between these two teams. Up by four at the break, Caldwell opened the second half on a 19-6 run to open a 56-40 lead with 12:10 left in the game.
The Cougars would go on to extend their lead to as many as 22 points with 7:19 on the clock. The Purple Knights, however, had one more run in them.
Bridgeport rattled off an 18-1 stretch to cut the lead to just 81-76 at the 4:08 mark.
The Purple Knights also trimmed the Caldwell edge to 85-80 with 2:06 left, and 87-82 with less than a minute remaining, but that would be as close as UB would get.
After totaling 70 points in the first half, both teams combined for 110 points after the break.
Inside the Numbers
A pair of 20-point efforts led Bridgeport's attack on Wednesday night. It was season highs for both Tim Dawson and D'Andre Collins as they combined for 47 points on 14-of-28 shooting. They also made seven of UB's 10 three-pointers in the game.
Dawson, who has now poured in at least 22 points in three of his last four games, also dished out a team-best five assists—a mark that Nick Traill also achieved. Collins ended up leading the Purple Knights in rebounding with eight.
UB's bench finished with one of its best games of the season with a total of 25 points. Traill put in nine of those points while Malikai Delgado recorded eight.
Bridgeport once again recorded a solid mark from the free-throw line, finishing 19-of-25 from the charity stripe. Caldwell, meanwhile, went 32-for-47 from the line.
