Women’s Volleyball Buck Chargers In Final Regular Season Home Game
Bridgeport won three tight sets in Wednesday’s conference sweep of Dominican University.
Bridgeport, Conn. – The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team made it seven CACC wins in a row Wednesday night with a clean sweep of the Dominican University Chargers. The Purple Knights won their sets by scores of 26-24, 25-19 and 30-28. The win improves UB's season record to 22-7 overall and 14-1 in conference play.
Hailey Jessen (Fr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) was the only double digit kill provider for Bridgeport with 16 while adding two block assists in defense. Classmate Grace Presswood (S. Dennis, Mass.) led the defensive effort with 11 digs along with four kills and three assisted blocks.
The leading blocker for the Purple Knights was Sophomore Lucia Tomiello (Caltrano, Italy) as she accumulated five assisted and one solo block at the net. Tomiello also hit at .263 percent with nine kills and three digs.
Jaden Drollinger (Jr., Queens Creek, Az.) provided 36 assists from the setter position with five digs, two aces and two kills.
Up next, UB will play their final regular season game, away from home. They travel Friday for a 5:00 p.m. game in Philadelphi, Pa. to challenge the Holy Family University Tigers.
