BRIAN MACKEY NAMED ASSISTANT GOLF COACH AT DOMINICAN

Orangeburg, NY (8/12/08) Dominican College Men's Golf Coach, Wayne Mackey, has announced the hiring of Brian Mackey as the assistant golf coach for the 2008-2009 season.
Mackey is a 2008 graduate of Dominican College, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. He enters the coaching ranks after completing a stellar collegiate career at Dominican that included four-year team MVP honors, four-year CACC All-Conference accolades, and four-year participation in the East/Northeast Regional Championships. He was named to the NCAA Division II Ping All-Northeast Region Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America for three years, was the 2008 NCAA Division II East/Northeast Regional Individual Champion, competed in the 2008 NCAA Division II National Championship, was selected to the 2008 NCAA Division II Ping All-America Team, and was the recipient of the 2008 Dominican College Charger Award.
Mackey is a 2004 graduate of Saint Joseph Regional High School, Montvale N.J., where he was a four-year MVP, selected 1st & 2nd Team All-County, 1st & 2nd Team All- League, 1st Team Parochial "A" and selected to the NJPGA Section All-State Team during his four year high school career. As Team Captain, he led the Saint Joseph golf team to the 2004 New Jersey State Championship, 2004 Parochial "A" Championship and the 2004 All-League Championship.
Mackey will bring an enormous amount of golf expertise, enthusiasm and tournament experience to the Dominican Golf Team and will contribute immensely to the team's continued progress and success in both regional and conference play.
