EAST STROUDSBURG, PA – The Bears men's soccer team hit the road Saturday evening to square-off with non-conference foe, East Stroudsburg and came away with a, 4-1 loss at Gregory-Douds Field. The Warriors controlled the game from the start with a goal in the 6th minute of play and never looked back, improving to 3-0 on the season.
The home team tacked on a goal at the 13:48 minute mark to go into halftime up, 2-0 as Bloomfield (1-3) struggled to find shots on goal in the opening half. The Warriors came out of intermission to score another goal just two minutes into the 2nd frame and capped their offensive attack with a fourth goal with 56:52 on the clock. Jomar Vizcaino, who got the start in goal for the Bears, recorded four saves and four goals against in ninety minutes of work. The lone bright spot for the visitors' offensive attack came off the foot of Cristian Marroquin who netted a ball from Arsenious Demetriou in the 77th minute for his first goal of the year.
Bloomfield will rest up for a week before opening up conference play next Saturday against Chestnut Hill College. The September 16th Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference showdown on the road with the Griffins is set for a 3:00 pm first touch.
