CACC TEAMS AND INDIVIDUALS COMPLETE FIRST ROUND AT NCAA GOLF SUPER REGIONAL
DANIELS, WV (May 4, 2009) - The first day of action at the 2009 NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Super Golf Regional completed Monday afternoon at The Resort at Glade Springs: Cobb Course, in Daniels, WV. Glade Springs is a par-72, 7,084 yard course. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) has three teams participating in the 20-team event, along with two individuals among 108 total golfers.
Goldey-Beacom College carded the best score of the three CACC schools after firing a 320, which is good for 13th place after the first of three rounds at the championship. Post University, the CACC Champion, sits in 15th place after shooting a 326, while Wilmington University is 19th with a total of 331.
The top performance today was accomplished by Dominican College's Andrew Lee, who shot a 77 to stand in a tie for 13th place. Post's Jamie Blake is tied for 24th after shooting a 78. Mark Murphy of Wilmington also carded a 78. Goldey-Beacom was led by Tyler Harman, who shot a 79 on Monday.
Fayetteville State University leads the team standings with a first round total of 304, while the individual leader is Sean Burke of Ohio Valley University (72).
The second and third rounds of the championship will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
