Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team fell to 8-11 overall and 4-6 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play on Saturday afternoon with a 64-50 home loss to the visiting Holy Family University Tigers. HFU is now 14-6 overall and 8-1 in the CACC.
Senior Stephanie McBride (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Purple Knights with an impressive double of a game-high 20 points along with a game-best 15 rebounds. Those 20 points tie a season-high on offense for Stephanie.
McBride was joined in double figures for Bridgeport by freshman Amani Melendez (Woodbridge, Va.) with 15 points,
Lindsay Tretter led the Tigers with 14 points on the afternoon.
The UB women's basketball team will look to get back in the win column on Wednesday night, when the Purple Knights close out their three-game homestand against local rival Post University. Tip-off is slated in Hubbell Gym for 5:00 p.m.
