Bridgeport Volleyball Posts An Impressive Road Sweep Over American International
Purple Knights Defeat The Yellow Jackets, 25-17, 25-22, 21-17
Springfield, Mass.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team continued its hot start to the 2023 season on Tuesday evening with an impressive road sweep over the host American International College Yellow Jackets in a non-conference match, 25-17, 25-22, 25-17. The victory ups UB's season mark to 8-2. AIC is now 5-6 overall.
Hailey Jessen (Fr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) led the Bridgeport offense on Tuesday night with 12 kills, and she finished with a double-double notching 10 digs.
Sophomore Lucia Tomiello (Caltrano, Italy) also finished Tuesday's contest with a double-double of her own, as she had 10 kills and a team-high 12 digs, as she hit .500 in the match.
Junior setter Jaden Drollinger (Queens Creek, Ariz.) gave the Purple Knights three players with double-double in the impressive win, as she had 31 assists in the three sets to go along with 11 digs.
Freshman Grace Presswood (S. Dennis, Mass.) had a solid all-around outing in Tuesday's victory, as she contributed eight kills and seven digs.
Up next, the UB volleyball return to Hubbell Gym on Thursday night for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match against the Cougars of Caldwell University. First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m.
