NEW HAVEN, CT - Lee Wanklyn of Post University has claimed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Golfer of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, April 12. Tyler Harman of Goldey-Beacom College was the pick for Rookie of the Week for the third consecutive week.
Wanklyn, a junior from Berkshire, England, led Post to the team title at the Peter King Memorial Tournament at Dowling College by placing second after firing two rounds of 75. He finished just one stroke behind the winner.
Harman, a freshman from Dover, DE, tied for 10th place at the Peter King Memorial Tournament, shooting a two-day total of 154 (77, 77). He helped lead the Lightning to a sixth place finish at the event.
Honorable Mention
Rob Hunt, Goldey-Beacom (Sr., Wilmington, DE) - Tied for third place at the Peter King Memorial by firing rounds of 74 and 77 (151).
Jonathan Radick, Holy Family (Jr., Richboro, PA) - Tied for 12th place at the Peter King Memorial after carding rounds of 76 and 79 (155).
Gavin Wilson, Post (Fr., Fife, Scotland ) - Tied for 12th at the Peter King by shooting rounds of 74 and 81 (155).
Joe Lee, Nyack (So., Bronx, NY) - Placed first at the USP Quad Match with a 75 and also tied for 27th at the Peter King Memorial with a total of 159 (79, 80).
CACC Notes
Felician - Junior and 2007 all-CACC performer Joe Peters followed his worst round of the season with his best one when he shot 90-75-165 at the Dowling Peter King Memorial on April 5-6.
