LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. – Bentley turned a triple play and had another big game at the plate in a 16-3 victory over Caldwell on Thursday for its third straight victory.
In the top of the 2nd and with runners on first and second, starting pitcher Pat Heber induced a ground ball to third baseman Steve Rizzuto to start the triple play.
Heber went seven strong innings with nine strikeouts to earn the win.
Second baseman Jackson Walonis had a game high three hits.
Tommy Bolton, Nick Pappas and Cory Bright each had two RBI.
Bentley has scored double digit runs in each game of its three-game winning streak and in eight games overall this season.
They improved to 13-5 overall and 5-2 on its Florida trip, which concludes on Friday with another game against Caldwell.
