UB Clips Caldwell In 3-0 Conference Sweep
Bridgeport sweeps CACC opponent Caldwell University on the road.
Caldwell, N.J. – The University of Bridgeport women’s volleyball team triumphed over CACC side Caldwell University Thursday night winning three straight sets. The win improves the Purple Knights season record to 16-5 overall and 9-1 in conference play.
A strong showing in attack for Bridgeport, hitting at a .446 kill percentage as a team paved the way for a comfortable victory over the Cougars. UB won their three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-11 and 25-12 respectively.
Leading the team in the kill column was Fr. Hailey Jessen (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) with 16 kills and a .667 kill percentage. Classmate Grace Presswood (S. Dennis, Mass.) had a quality performance as she recorded 11 kills and 11 digs for the sole Bridgeport double-double.
Setter Jaden Drollinger (Jr., Queens Creek, Az.) regularly found her targets, accumulating 36 assists along with four digs and three service aces.
Lucia Tomiello (So., Caltrano, Italy) chipped in with five access, five kills and three digs.
Up next, the UB women’s volleyball team will play Pace University on Saturday, October 21st, 1:00 p.m. at home in the Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium.
