UB Men See Their Three-Game Winning Streak Snapped By Post University
Eagles Top The Purple Knights, 83-67
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team never led in the game, as the Purple Knights saw their three-game winning streak snapped by the visiting Post University Eagles in Hubbell Gym by a score of 83-67. Bridgeport is now 10-9 overall and 6-5 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play. Post moves to 12-8 overall and 7-4 in the CACC.
UB trailed by as many as 24 points with 10:49 to play in the game, but the Purple Knights battled back to cut the deficit to 10, 68-58, with 6:50 to play, but the visitors closed the game out on a 15-9 run to seal the victory.
Matt Turner (Grad., Trumbull, Conn.) and senior Ali Sumareh (Bronx, N.Y.) led UB in scoring, as they each netted 13 points. Senior Mason Williams (Voorhees, N.J.) also reached double digits with 10 points on the night. Sumareh led the Purple Knights in rebounding grabbing six boards.
Post's David Jasson led all scorers in the contest with 23 points.
Up next, the UB men's basketball team opens at three-game road trip at Georgian Court University in New Jersey on Saturday afternoon. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m. in the Garden State.
