WYSOCKI LIFTS LADY CHARGERS TO VICTORY IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE
Bridgeport, Conn. (10/31/23) Dominican University New York women's soccer player, Isabella Wysocki (Rahway, N.J.) netted the game-winning goal in the 22nd minute of play to lift the Lady Chargers to a 1-0 victory this evening over host, the University of Bridgeport, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Knights Field.
Wysocki scored the deciding goal at 22:13 mark on a shot that hit off the cross bar and landed behind the Purple Knight keeper, following the pass from Nicholette Brunner (East Islip, N.Y.).
Dominican improves to 6-6-3 overall and concludes the regular season with a 5-3-3 mark in the CACC. Tonight's victory secured the fifth seed for the Lady Chargers in the upcoming CACC Women's Soccer Championship tournament, slated to begin on November 5th.
Keeper Lauren Drummond (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada) picked up the shut out victory, making four saves in 90 minutes of action.
UB held the 10-9 advantage in shots and a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Lady Chargers will travel to #4 Holy Family University in a CACC Quarterfinal contest to be played on Sunday, November 5th. Game time is slated for 1pm.
