Three Different Firebirds Score In Match Up Against Chestnut Hill

PHILADELPHIA, PA- the University of the District of Columbia's women's lacrosse team fell to Chestnut Hill College, 7-17, on the road.

Tamaya Edwards scored a career high four goals for the Firebirds, Tiffany Canales-Velasquez scored two and Najee Gunter scored her first collegiate goal. Natalia Perkins also made a game-high 19 saves.

With only 11 bodies available, the Firebirds played a man down the entire game. Their best offensive quarters came in the second half, scoring three goals in the third and two in the fourth. 

The Griffins had the edge in draw controls (15-11), and took 45 shots compared to the Firebirds 18. UDC went 15-22 in clears and Chestnut Hill went 15-15.

Up next, UDC (0-5) will head to West Virginia Wesleyan next Wednesday for a 2:00pm tip-off.
