Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's soccer team picked up its first clean sheet of the 2023 season and used a pair for first half goals to post a 2-0 home win over the visiting Thomas Jefferson University Rams on Saturday evening at Knights Field in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference for both squads. With the victory, Bridgeport is now 2-2-2 overall and 1-0-0 in the CACC. The Rams are now 1-4-0 overall and 0-1-0 in conference play.

Sophomore Maximilian Kissel (Wiesbaden, Germany) extended the UB lead to 2-0 in the 26th minute when he scored his third goal of the season off a lovely feed from freshman Lapo Romieri (Milan, Italy).
Bridgeport finished the match with a slight 12-11 edge in shots.
Purple Knights; goalkeeper Hugo Franceschi (Toulouse, France) was again strong in net for the winners, as he made three saves to earn his first collegiate shutout.
