Women's Lacrosse Wins at Chestnut Hill, 18-6
Purple Knights scored 10 goals in the second quarter.
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Propelled by a 10-goal second quarter, the University of Bridgeport's women's lacrosse team posted an 18-6 win at Chestnut Hill College on Saturday. The decisive victory improves the Purple Knights' record to 7-3 this season.
Tied 2-2 after the first 15 minutes, Bridgeport exploded for 10 tallies in the second quarter to take a 12-4 lead into the halftime break. From there, the Purple Knights cruised to victory.
Bridgeport's attack featured four different players scoring at least three goals. Danielle Kreitler led the way with a five-spot while Max McDermott put four into the back of the net.
Tara Dimaio and Megan Kreitler both chipped in three goals while Tereza Kreuzova found the back of the net twice. UB also enjoyed a goal from Emily Stuart.
Danielle Kreitler supplemented her five goals with a career-high 14 draw controls. She currently leads UB with 50 DCs this season.
On the defensive side of things, Dimaio tallied a team-best three caused turnovers.
UB's goalkeeper Jacklyn Mellia finished with seven stops in her seventh win of the season. She is currently ranked fifth in the CACC in both total saves and save percentage this season.
