Purple Knights Clipped By Southern Connecticut Sunday Night
Men’s Basketball were beaten in a tight contest, 94-98 by Southern Connecticut at home on Sunday evening.
Bridgeport, Conn. – The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team suffered a close defeat against the Owls of Southern Connecticut State University on Sunday evening. The Purple Knights were outshot 57.8% to 48.5% from the floor and lost by just four points, 94-98. The non-conference loss drops UB's overall season record to 1-1.
Bridgeport was led in attack by Nick Traill (Jr., Valley Stream, N.Y.) as he scored a team-high 22 points while going 7-of-10 from the floor, 3-of-5 from three-point territory along with two rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Senior D'Andre Collins (Newark, N.J.) supplied 17 points with two rebounds, two steals and one block. Classmate Joshua Dennis (Sr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) registered 16 points in addition to six rebounds and four assists.
Ryan Moore (Rs-Jr., West Palm Beach, FL) shot well from beyond the arc, going 4-of-7 from three-point range, scoring 14 points and adding six rebounds.
Tim Dawson (Sr., New Haven, Conn.) tallied 11 points, three assists, one rebound and one steal.
