UY SCORES TWICE IN SECOND HALF AS DOLPHINS ERASE TWO-GOAL DEFICIT IN 3-3 DRAW

Lakewood, NJ - The College of Staten Island Women's Soccer Team remained unbeaten this afternoon as they erased a two-goal second half deficit to force a 3-3 draw against Georgian Court University.  The Dolphins are now 2-0-3 on the season while the Lions finish the day 0-3-1.  With the draw, Georgian Court maintains their lead in the all-time series at 1-0-2 across three contests.

The Lions wasted little time scoring the game's first goal as they took the lead behind Aliya Canfield's first score of the season.  The goal was also the first of the year for Georgian Court.  Just minutes later, Nadia Evola netted the equalizer following an assist from Arielle Uy.  The goal was the second on the season for Evola and the assist was also Uy's second of the year.  However, the 1-1 score did not stand for long as Abby Kennelly gave the Lions a 2-1 lead just nine minutes later.  That lead grew to 3-1 with less than 90 seconds to play in the half when Chiamaka Wokocha scored the third Lions goal of the half.

Following the intermission, the Dolphins responded quickly and Uy continued her career day with her first goal of the season.  Trailing 3-2, Uy scored a second time eleven minutes later and leveled the score at 3-3.  The remainder of the second half saw both teams generate chances to score a potential game-winning goal, but neither side found the back of the net again in a 3-3 draw.

Uy finished the game with 5 points and the two goals were the first of her career.  The Dolphins finished the match with 15 shots to GCU's 11, and the three CSI goals gives them 11 on the season.  This surpasses the team's 2022 goal total of 10 and six different Dolphins have now registered a goal this season.

Women's Soccer will host their Alumni Day next weekend, but the next match of their schedule will not come until September 23rd against Daemen in the team's conference opener.
