BECK AND MOORE NAMED SOFTBALL PLAYER AND PITCHER OF THE WEEK

NEW HAVEN, CT - Sarah Beck of Dominican College has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 15. Brianne Moore of Bloomfield College was selected Pitcher of the Week, while DJ Jeppson of Dominican was tabbed Rookie of the Week.
Beck, a 5-9 senior outfielder from Milton, NY, hit .500 (14-for-28) in a 6-3 week with 12 runs batted in, six runs scored, three doubles, one home run and six stolen bases. She recorded at least one hit in every game and had an RBI in seven contests, including three against AIC, and two versus Assumption and St. Michael's (twice).
Moore, a junior right-hander from Clifton, NJ, went 4-0 on the week with a 1.22 ERA. She allowed only four earned runs in 23 innings of work, along with 30 strikeouts. She pitched a complete game shutout against Black Hills State.
Jeppson, a 5-7 freshman outfielder from Sylmar, CA, hit .400 in nine games last week with eight runs, eight RBI and nine stolen bases. She recorded at least one hit in each game, including a 3-for-3 performance with two stolen bases against St. Michael's. She drove in three runs against AIC.

Diana Sansevera, Georgian Court (So., RHP, Manalapan, NJ) - Went 2-0 last week with a 1.93 ERA. Allowed three runs with 19 strikeouts in 14.0 innings of work.
Vickie Berardi, Bloomfield (Jr., Linden, NJ) - Hit .407 with nine runs scored, five RBI, one home run, three doubles and four stolen bases in a 7-2 week.
Brittany Brown, USP (Jr., INF, 5-9, Marlton, NJ) - Hit .500 for the week with seven RBI and two runs scored.
Shannon O'Hara, Goldey-Beacom (Fr., RHP, 5-8, LaPlata, MD) - Went 1-1 with a 0.58 ERA in two starts. Allowed only one earned run in 12.0 IP with nine strikeouts. Picked up a win against East Stroudsburg.
CACC Notes
Bloomfield - Bloomfield went 7-2 in the Cocoa Expo Tournament in Florida this past week, its best record ever to start a season. The Deacons won their final five games of the tournament and were led by numerous big performances. Brianne Moore went 4-0, including a 4-0 shutout win in her final game. She struck out 30 in 23 innings. In her first action since transferring to BC, Jackie Dean ended the trip with two consecutive wins and two saves. She didn't allow an earned run over her final 15 innings. Vickie Berardi (.407), Kira Wagar (.400) and Nicole Cagnino (.400) were BC's top hitters. Tiffany Muschio, Daliana Perez and Meagan Riemann all registered their first collegiate hits.
Caldwell - The Cougars began their season last week in Florida at the Rebel Spring Games, going 1-3 in the first two days of action. Senior All-American Gina Capardi hit .364 with a double and two runs to lead Caldwell at the plate. The Cougars play six more games in Florida before starting CACC play on Saturday at USP.
Georgian Court - Senior Stephanie Cuevas (Fords, NJ) launched a
two-out, three-run bomb in the top of the ninth inning to give the
Lions a 5-4 victory over Millersville in Game Two, 3/11. Diana
Sansevera (So.-Manalapan, NJ) has pitched five consecutive complete
games, going 5-0 with three shutouts, 59 strikeouts and a 1.22 ERA.
Overall, she is 6-1 (11 G, 7 GS) with 6 complete games, 88 K's
and 1.11 ERA in 57.0 IP. The Lions improved to #12 in the latest
NFCA Division II National Poll.
Holy Family - Holy Family dropped a pair of double-headers to the
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference last week to move its
overall record to 4-10. The Tigers were swept in their home opener
against Millersville by scores of 8-7 in nine innings and 7-1. Six
different Tigers had two hits in game one led by second baseman
Sarah Marsteller's 2-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored and
one RBI. In game two, first baseman Rebecca Costa had two of the
Tigers four hits. On Saturday, Holy Family lost to West Chester 4-3
and 4-1. Third baseman Victoria Grayson paced the offense with two
hits and drove in two runs. Marsteller scored twice. Marsteller
accounted for the lone run in game two with a solo home run. This
week, Holy Family hosts East Stroudsburg (Wed.) and Queens (N.Y)
(Sun.) and visits Post (Sat.).
Philadelphia - The Lady Rams went 2-2 regionally before heading
to Florida and dropped their first three games on Sunday. The team
has a rookie pitcher, Ali Schmidt (1-1) who has already racked up
14 strikeouts this season in 10 innings pitched - a PhilaU
high.
