GEORGIAN COURT, BLOOMFIELD AND DOMINICAN CONTINUE TO BE RANKED IN REGION FOR SOFTBALL
NEW HAVEN, CT (April 8, 2009) - Georgian Court University, Bloomfield College and Dominican College are ranked according to the April 8 NCAA Division II East Region Softball poll. GCU fell one spot to third, while the Deacons are seventh and the Chargers stand ninth.
Georgian Court, which is also ranked 14th in this week's National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top 25 poll, is currently 20-9 overall and 6-2 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). The Lions earned two quality wins last week over teams that are ranked in the region, as they upended Dowling and Queens by scores of 11-3 and 9-3, respectively.
Bloomfield is seventh in the poll for the second consecutive with a 19-6 record and a 9-1 mark in the CACC. BC has won seven of its last eight contests.
Dominican fell one spot to ninth in the poll. The Chargers are 19-12 overall and 7-2 in CACC contests.
