107 S-As Named to 2023 CACC WSOC All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (December 13, 2023) -- More than 100 student-athletes on Wednesday were named to the 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Soccer All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. All 12 CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team. In all, 107 honorees made the All-Academic Team.
Half of the 12 teams in the CACC boasted double-digit honorees on the academic squad, including Caldwell University (12), Thomas Jefferson University (12), Felician University (11), Georgian Court University (11), Post University (11) and Holy Family University (10). Jefferson claimed the CACC Regular Season Championship while HFU reached the CACC Championship Final. CACC Champion University of Bridgeport placed seven on the list.
NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
♦ Five student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages (Felician University's Nicole Jenal, GCU's Emily Clayton, Goldey-Beacom College's Kaitlyn Nolan, Post's Hannah Marriott and Kaeleigh Serianni).
♦ Twenty-seven (27) student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
♦ Eight student-athletes were placed on the academic team for the fourth time in their respective careers (Caldwell's Sarah Costanza, Megan Feehan and Lucy Rennar, GCU's Aliyah Canfield, HFU's Gianna Penecale, Post's Kayla Agostinelli, Wilmington University's Sammi Bennett and Kailey Hyland).
♦ Twelve (12) were named to the CACC Women's Volleyball All-Academic Team for the third time in their respective careers.
♦ Thirty-eight (38) were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.
♦ The eight teams to qualify for the CACC post-season tournament combined to have 74 honorees make the all-academic team.
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 12 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
