GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Playing on the loser's side of the NCAA East Regional, the University of Bridgeport's softball team dropped a 7-0 contest to third-seeded Pace on Friday. The Purple Knights, who also lost to second-seeded Adelphi on Thursday, see their season end with an overall record of 27-23.
The loss to the Setters serves as the final chapter of a terrific, resilient book for the Purple and White this season. UB rebounded from a 3-13 record on March 16 to surge into the NCAA East Regional for the fourth time in the last six years.
The Purple Knights' 27 wins this season puts their victory total at 157 since 2019. Coach Stearns' squad closed out 2024 with a home record of 12-1. They also outscored their conference opponents this season by a 134-62 margin.

Burawski also racked up 221 total strikeouts this spring which ranked second in the CACC. She will enter next season with a career strikeout total of 814 in 578 frames of action.
The final game of 2024 also served as the final contest for Meg McFarland, who started all 50 games this season. The senior center fielder completed this season ranked fourth in the CACC in triples (4) and walks (23) while leading the Purple Knights in on-base percentage (.457).
