Caldwell's Lauren Marks Named CACC March S-A of the Month
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (April 10, 2024) -- Caldwell University's women's bowling standout Lauren Marks on Wednesday was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Student-Athlete of the Month for March, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Marks earned the award for demonstrating success on the lanes, while also being a standout in the classroom and giving back to her local community.
During the month of March, Marks was named the 2023-24 CACC Bowler of the Year while also earning most valuable bowler honors at the CACC Championship in leading the Cougars to their second-consecutive conference title. Marks was also named to the All-CACC First Team for the second time in as many seasons. On the national level, Marks is the NCTA National Statistical Leader in Strike Percentage (48.3%).
A senior fine arts major from Parsippany, N.J., Marks boasts a 3.95 cumulative grade point average. She has twice been named to the CACC Women's Bowling All-Academic Team and was placed on the CACC Fall 2023 Academic Honor Roll.
In the community, Marks has raised funds for the Wellness for All Foundation, which benefits formal education Ounam in the region of Haiti.
The CACC Student-Athlete of the Month Award is handed out each month from September through May spanning the course of the academic calendar. The award recognizes athletic and academic accomplishment and giving back to the local community.
