Felician Goes Back to Back in CACC WOTF Championships

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (May 5, 2024) - Felician women's track and field added onto the history of women's sports for Felician Athletics as they defended their 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Outoor Championship crown when they garnered 232 points to stay on top as the reigning Champions of 2024.
Looking back to earlier in the year, the Golden Falcons became the ECC Champions - with Aarysa Moore being named Most Outstanding Athlete of the Meet - and now they completed their winning season with their consecutive CACC Championship with various All-Conference finishers.
Talia Ferguson kicked off weekend with a pair of gold medals on Saturday in the Long Jump and High Jump events. In the long, she posted a distance of 5.53m and in the High Jump was her best mark of 1.58m. On Sunday, she clinched a sweep in the jumping field events when she finished first in the Triple Jump with a distance of 11.42m.
Moore and Ferguson went head-to-head in the 100m Hurdles where Moore crossed the finish line first at 14.72 and Ferguson at 15.82.
Chantoya Thomas dominated on the track with a handful of medals throughout the weekend as she finished first in the individual races of the 200m (24.93), 400m (56.94), and aided in the 4x400 relay win - along side her teammates of, Catherine Catipay, Imani Fitzpatrick, and Darrian Lewis - with a clocked in time of 3:58.50. Catipay also took home an individual medal in the 800m race with a finishing time of 2:17.26.
Taking a leap towards the throwing events, Destiny Fields and Destiny Ellerbe posted a first and second place finish to aid in the CACC victory. Fields secured the gold in the Discus Throw with a mark of 38.70m while Ellerbe took the silver in the Shot Put with a 12.59m throw.
In almost every event the Golden Falcons placed an athlete in the top-five to clinch their consecutive CACC crown. This marks Felician Athletics' FIFTH women's championship title - Third CACC - through the span of 18 months.
