Jefferson Claims 2024 CACC Men's Tennis Division Championship
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 30, 2024) -- Top-seeded Thomas Jefferson University on Tuesday claimed the 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Division Men's Tennis Championship via a 4-1 win over third-seeded Chestnut Hill College on the CHC campus in Philadelphia. The Rams will now face Queens College in the CACC-ECC Tennis Final on Saturday at 5:30 p.m., in Queens, N.Y. The winner will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II East Tournament in early May.
Mario Antonio was named the most valuable player of the CACC Tournamnt as he picked up wins at No. 2 singles and doubles. His win at No. 2 singles was the first singles match to fall on Tuesday and it extended Jefferson's lead to 2-0 at the time.
Joining Antonio on All-Tournament Team was Antonio Mateos, Enrique Soto and Hannibal Borg. CHC's Noah Cutting and Pedro Vicente were also named to the All-Tournament Team. Vicente picked up a win at No. 6 singles on Tuesday. Mateos and Borg each won their contests, as Borg's win at No. 1 clinched the championship for Jefferson.
