Twenty-Seven Student-Athletes Named to the 2020-21 CACC Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team
LIST OF HONOREES: 2020-21 CACC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (July 9, 2021) -- Twenty-seven (27) student-athletes on Friday were named to the 2020-21 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 27 honorees represent 11 of the CACC member institutions that have varsity programs in the sport.
Holy Family University led the way with six honorees, including Shania Le Maitre's team-best 4.0 cumulative grade point average in her major of biology/pre-physical therapy. Chestnut Hill College was second on the list with four student-athletes earning All-Academic status. The top Griffin GPA was a mark of 3.89 held by Charlize Rios in her major of early education.
Le Maitre was one of three student-athletes on the list to earn a perfect 4.0 mark, with the other two standouts being Georgian Court University's Rachel Pausz in her major of accounting, and University of the Sciences' Sabrina Abbruzzese in her major of biomedical sciences.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
♦ Five of the 27 honorees earned GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
♦ Nine of the 27 honorees made the CACC Men's Cross Country Team for the second time.
♦ Chestnut Hill's Irene Canizares-Llull and Wilmington University's Alexa Crowell were the two honorees on the list to make the academic squad for the third time in their respective careers.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 13 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican (N.Y.)
