Thirty-One Student-Athletes Named to 2020-21 CACC Women's Tennis All-Academic Team
LIST OF HONOREES: 2020-21 CACC WOMEN'S TENNIS ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (July 8, 2021) -- Thirty-One (31) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2020-21 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Tennis All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 31 honorees represent eight of the nine CACC member institutions that have a varsity program in the sport.
Concordia College, which captured the 2020-21 CACC Championship, led the way with six honorees, including Giovanna Jallas' team-best 3.75 cumulative grade point average in her major of business administration. Goldey-Beacom College was second on the list with five student-athletes earning All-Academic status. The top Lightning GPA was a mark of 4.0 held by Anna Hortelano Pey in her major of business. She was the lone honoree on the squad to post a 4.0 GPA.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
♦ Seven of the honorees earned GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
♦ Five of the honorees made the CACC Women's Tennis Team for the second time.
♦ Concordia's Angelica Karlsson Hantzis, Hortelano Pey, Thomas Jefferson University's Millie Coombes and Wilmington University's Begona Gomar were named to the CACC All-Academic Team for at least the third time in their respective careers.
