Former Caldwell Softball Great Corinne Reiser Houser Recognized as Member of CACC Hall of Fame
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (May 22, 2019) -- Former Caldwell University softball great Corinne Reiser Houser was recently recognized as being a member of the Class of 2018 for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Hall of Fame. She was recognized by her alma mater on April 27 during a campus event prior to a Cougar softball game.
Reiser Houser is one of the finest student-athletes in CACC history, as she joins a 2018 Class that featured Andre Dabney (Bloomfield College), Steve Baxter (Dominican College) and the 2008 Georgian Court University Women's Volleyball Team.
In 2004, Houser was named the CACC Pitcher of the Year and led the Cougars to the CACC Regular Season and Tournament Championships, the NCAA Division II Northeast Region crown and a berth in the Women's College World Series by pitching in all nine post-season games. A four-time First-Team All-CACC performer, she was named a second-team All-American in 2004 after going 27-4 with 331 strikeouts and a microscopic earned run average of 0.51. Houser was a four-time NFCA Northeast Region First-Team honoree, and still holds the program records for career ERA (0.83) and career strikeouts (782).
The Class of 2018 is the fourth class in CACC Hall of Fame history. Reiser Houser becomes the third former Cougar to enter the conference's Hall, joining Matthew Stuart (Class of 2016) and Danielle Ciresi Murphy (Class of 2017).
