Concordia Introduces New Cross Country Coaches
Bronxville, N.Y. – Concordia College (N.Y.) Athletics Director Ivan Marquez announced the hiring of a new head coach and assistant coach for the cross country programs on Wednesday morning. Laura Brezovsky (’13) will serve as head coach and Will Deitte (’12) will join her as an assistant coach for the upcoming season.
Brezovsky graduated Summa Cum Laude from Concordia this past spring with a B.A. in Psychology. Laura was a four-year member of the softball program where she was a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Academic selection three times in her career and was also named the Concordia Female Scholar Athlete of the Year during this past spring. Brezovsky had a career batting average of .253 in 86 games played with 59 hits, 17 runs, 25 RBI's, and 11 doubles. As a catcher she threw out 17 batters in her career.
“I would just say that I’m excited for this opportunity,” stated Laura. “I can’t wait for our cross country athletes to get back on campus so that we can begin our season and working each day to improve both athletically and academically.”
Deitte graduated from Concordia with a B.S. in Business Administration and is currently an Admissions Advisor on campus. As a student-athlete with the Clippers, Will was a two-year member of the golf program after spending a season with the cross country program. In 2012 he was named the Concordia Director of Athletics Award recipient.
“Both Laura and Will were very involved with leadership activities while studying at Concordia and will bring a keen sense of leadership to the cross country programs,” stated Marquez.
