Bridgeport, Conn. – The University of Bridgeport men's soccer team were defeated in heartbreaking fashion, conceding the winning goal with just seconds left on the clock, The loss drops UB's season record to 7-6-3 overall and 6-3-1 in CACC competition.
The Purple Knights looked the more dangerous of the two teams early but found the Lions' defense to be formidable.
The deadlock was broken in the 35th minute when Maximilian Kissel (So., Wiesbaden, Germany) received the ball in stride and was able to split two Georgian Court defenders on pure agility to get in one versus one with the keeper. Once in on goal, Kissel opened his body and slotted the ball to the near post to give Bridgeport the 1-0 lead.
UB would head to the locker room with that 1-0 lead and the match's momentum.
