Pleasantville, N.Y.-It was tough night on offense for the visiting University of Bridgeport men's basketball team, as the visiting Purple Knights shot only 33.3 percent from the floor (25-of-75) and 28.5 percent from three-point range (8-of-28) in an 83-68 non-conference road loss on Wednesday evening against the Pace University Setters. Bridgeport is now 4-5 overall, and Pace moves to 7-3 overall.
Matt Turner (Grad., Trumbull, Conn.) led UB in scoring at Pace with 18 points, and he was joined in double figures by junior D'Andre Collins (Newark, N.J.) with 12 points and senior Malcolm Moye (Windsor, Conn.) with 11 points.
Moye fell just shy of a double-double grabbing a team-high nine rebounds, and Collins pulled down eight boards.
All five starters reach double-digit scoring for Pace led by Brandon Powell with 19 points.
Up, next, the UB men's basketball team will look to snap a three-game losing skid on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. when the Purple Knights close at two-game road swing in Flushing, New York taking on Queens (N.Y.) College.
