BUFFALO - D'Youville hosted Chestnut Hill at Dobson Field on Wednesday, falling to the Griffins by a score of 8-0.
The Saints (0-2) found themselves in an early deficit after the Griffins scored 52 seconds into the first half. The Griffins would tack on two more goals in the half, going into halftime with a 3-0 lead.
DYU got a scoring opportunity in the 77th minute, when freshman
Ben Calkins (East Grinstead, England) got off a shot that missed just right. Both freshman
Jake Marks (London, England) and sophomore
Josh Marer (Cohoes, N.Y.) saw action in net today, as Marks saved six shots in 71 minutes of action and Marks stopped three shots in 19 minutes. The Saints put up a valiant defensive effort in the sweltering heat.
The Saints are back in action on Saturday, September 9th, at 1:00 p.m., as they welcome Lock Haven University to Dobson Field.
