BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The women's soccer team played their second game at home Tuesday night and suffered a, 4-0 setback against Caldwell University. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle under the bright lights of historic Foley Field left the Bears with a, 1-3 overall record and an 0-2 mark in league play.
The Cougars (3-2, 1-0 CACC) pounced in the opening minute of play with a goal on Mia Phillip as just 53 seconds had run off the clock. Phillip recovered and picked up two saves in the half without allowing another goal before she turned over the keeper duties to Arielle O'Neal.
The Bloomfield offense only had one shot attempt in the first half and saw their struggles continue with just three in the 2nd half. The home team had just two shots on goal for the entire game as Caldwell clawed out three more goals to take the victory.
Next up the Bears will take to the road for a non-conference match with The College of Saint Rose on September 27th. The Wednesday regional showdown in Albany is set for a 6:00 PM start.
