LYNDHURST, N.J. - - The Wilmington University baseball team started its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference portion of its schedule with a pair of losses at Felician, 3-2 and 4-0, on Sunday at Breslin Field.

GAME 1:
A two-out, two-run, walk-off single stunned the Wildcats (11-9, 0-2 CACC) in the opener, as Felician (13-15, 3-2 CACC) fought back to steal the opener, 3-2.

AJ Tropiano started the scoring for the Wildcats in the top of the second, smacking an RBI double to score Chase Fleming from third. The Wildcats still had runners on first and third with one out in the inning, but Felician induced a double play to get out of the jam.

The Wildcats left two runners on in the third and then Felician tied it in the bottom of the fourth with a leadoff homer. Tyler Pirrung singled to start the fifth and then was standing on third with one out. Brandon Grygo hit a sacrifice fly to center to give the Wildcats the lead once more, 2-1.

Wilmington starter Matt Warrington got out of a bases loaded jam in the sixth but wasn't able to close out the game in the bottom of the seventh. The Golden Falcons put the tying run on with a one-out single. A two-out single to the pitcher kept the game alive and then a two-out, two-run single allowed Felician to walk off with the win, 3-2.

Warrington struck out seven while only allowing three runs on seven hits in the tough luck loss. Four Wildcats all had hits, with AJ Tropiano the only extra base hit.

GAME 2:
Wilmington had more hits in game two on Sunday but couldn't find the big hit to plate any runners. The Wildcats finished with seven hits in the game but left nine runners on base.

The Wildcats' first chance came in the top of the third, putting runners on second and third with one out. But Felician picked up a strikeout and a ground out to escape the jam.

Felician scored all the runs they would need in the fourth inning off starter Derek Huff. A one-out triple scored a runner from first and then an error plated another run with the next batter. A double put another run on the board as the Golden Falcons took a 3-0 lead.

Wilmington left two more runners on in the top of the fifth, one in the sixth, and left the bases loaded in the top of the seventh to end the game, 4-0.

CJ Deery went 2-for-3 while five other Wildcats came away with hits as well.
