LADY CHARGERS PLAY TO 2-2 TIE WITH POST UNIVERSITY
Waterbury, Conn. (10/11/23) The Dominican University New York women's soccer team earned a 2-2 tie with conference rival Post University this afternoon played on LaMoy Field.
After the tie, the Lady Chargers now stand at 3-4-3 overall and have a conference record of 2-1-3. The Eagles now hold a record of 2-6-2 overall and a CACC record of 1-3-2.
Sophomore goalkeeper Stella Paton (Edinburgh, Scotland) made four saves in the game for Dominican while Post keeper Alexis Campbell made four saves for the Eagles all in the second half.
The game was scoreless through the first half of play with Paton making three of her four saves in the opening half.
The Eagles jumped ahead early in the second half when Hailey McGee connected for a goal.
Dominican tied the game in the 68th minute when Isabella Wysocki (Rahway, N.J.) scored her second goal of the season. Nicole Conway (Monroe, N.Y.) and Sabine Sorensen (Ballerup, Denmark) were credited with assists on the goal.
Just over two minutes later, McGee scored her second goal of the game to give the Eagles a 2-1 advantage.
The Lady Chargers answered back to tie the game at the 73:39 mark when Stella Koster (Saarbruecken, Germany) buried her second goal of the season. Wysocki and Conway picked up the assists with Conway earning her second assist of the game.
The Eagles held the edge in shots over Dominican 15-13 and earned six corner kicks.
The Lady Chargers return to action this Saturday when they travel to Holy Family University for a CACC contest with the Tigers at 12:00 PM.
