BUFFALO - The D'Youville University women's tennis team played their season opener Sunday afternoon, falling to Post University by a score of 7-0.

In doubles action, the Saints dropped two tight matches. At first doubles, the pairing of junior Yuliia Kashtelian and senior Khushi Agarwal were defeated in a tightly contested set by a score of 6-4. At second doubles, freshman Maria Campisi and sophomore Paola Ermina also battled hard, falling 6-3.

In singles, the Saints again gave Post a tough battle. At first singles, Kashtelian pushed Post to a deciding third set tiebreaker, ultimately falling 4-6, 6-4, [6-10]. Sophomore Yelizaveta Prokopenko also forced a third set tiebreaker at the fifth singles position, but was defeated 7-6, 2-6, [3-10].

DYU is back in action Tuesday, September 19th, at 12:00 p.m. as they open their conference schedule on the road against Daemen.
