Baseball Ends Second Doubleheader with Split Against Franklin Pierce
 
PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (9-6) ended their doubleheader matchup with Franklin Pierce University (6-7). The Rams took game one 9-3, but the Ravens left with an 8-3 win in game two.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: W, 9-3

The Ravens went up three runs in the first inning off a fielder's choice, wild pitch, and throwing error. Gabe Silva scored from a throwing error in the bottom of the first. Silva then made it to homeplate off a wild pitch by the Ravens. Justin Egner even the game in the third as Justin Espinal hit a ground out to shortstop, having it all tied at 3-3.
 
Marquie Wood would push the lead in favor of Jefferson as he hit a grand slam in the fifth inning to get the Rams up 7-3. Joshua Lopez double down the left line got Jay Kalieta and Espinal to home plate, finishing the running barrage for the Rams. Samuel Bass pitched all seven innings for the Jefferson, having 12 strikeouts on the day.

GAME TWO: L, 9-3
The second game saw the Rams go out first, scoring a run as Wood's single to center field brought Joshu. Lopez to homeplate in the second inning. Chris McLean nailing a homer to left field made it 2-0 in favor of Jefferson. Franklin Pierce went to score three runs in the fourth inning to get ahead of the Rams. The Ravens added one run in the fifth, then answered that with four in the sixth to go ahead 8-2. McLean's single to center field in the bottom of the seventh got Jordan Tiburcio a run, but a ground double play concluded the second game for Jefferson in a 8-3 loss.
