Women's Basketball: Ravens Close Out 2023 with a Win Over the University of Bridgeport

RINDGE, N.H (12/19/2023) -- The Franklin Pierce women's basketball team capped off 2023 with their third straight win as they beat the University of Bridgeport 58-50 at home at The Fieldhouse Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• It was a back-and-forth affair in the first half as Bridgeport held on to a 25-22 lead heading into halftime. Franklin Pierce outscored Bridgeport 36-25 in the second half to win 58-50. The Ravens are 2-0 against the Purple Knights this season.
• Two Raven starters finished the afternoon in double figures. Senior guard Anna Badosa Soler (Girona, Spain) had 11 points and shot 3 for 5 from the field. She was 4 for 4 from the charity stripe. Senior guard Janessa Gonzalez (Meriden, CT) had 13 points and shot 4 for 4 from the field. She was 2 for 2 from behind the arc.
• Sophomore guard Kenzie Sirowich (Seymour, CT) played 32 minutes off the bench and finished in double figures with 10 points. She shot 3 for 7 from the field.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:
• Franklin Pierce shot 42% from the field (19 for 45). Bridgeport shot 36% from the field (20 for 56)
• Franklin Pierce shot 42% from behind the arc (5 for 12). Bridgeport shot 33% from behind the arc (7 for 21).
• Franklin Pierce shot 75% from the free throw line (15 for 20). Bridgeport shot 60% from the free-throw line (3 for 5).
