HULL AND SANSEVERA GARNER SOFTBALL WEEKLY AWARDS

NEW HAVEN, CT (May 11, 2009) - Brooke Hull of Georgian Court University has garnered Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Player and Rookie of the Week accolades for the week ending Sunday, May 10. GCU's Diana Sansevera was selected Pitcher of the Week.
Hull, a freshman designated hitter from Nazareth, PA, hit .444
in three NCAA Regional
games with a .899 slugging percentage. She hit a first inning,
two-run home run in the East 2 Region Championship game against New
Haven in a 5-3 victory. She also drove in two runs against New
Haven the day before with a double. Hull and Georgian Court will
face Le Moyne College this weekend in the NCAA East Super Regional
Championship.
Sansevera, a sophomore right-hander from Manalapan, NJ, won all three of GCU’s games at the NCAA Regional at C.W. Post, and all were complete games. She registered a 2.00 earned-run average and struck out 20 batters in 21.0 innings of work. She fanned 11 in a tournament-opening triumph over Southern Connecticut State.
Honorable Mention
Nicole Scarillo, Dominican (So., C, South Amboy, NJ) - Hit .500 in
two NCAA Regional games with two home runs, both of them solo
shots.
CACC Notes
Georgian Court - The #3 seed Georgian Court
University softball team (39-15) defeated the #7-seed University of
New Haven (34-18) for the second straight day, this time in the
NCAA Division II East 2 Region Final, 5-3, Sunday afternoon at C.W.
Post University. With the victory, the Lions advance to the Super
Regionals for the first time in program history. They will now take
on #1 seed Le Moyne College in a best-of-three series, commencing
Friday, May
15th in Syracuse, NY, with the winner advancing to the NCAA
Division II World Series in Salem, VA, May 21-25.
