NEW HAVEN, CT - Sarah Beck of Dominican College and Kyrie Timbrook of Caldwell College have shared Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Player of the Week accolades for the week ending Sunday, April 19. USP's Rachel Morgan was the pick for Pitcher of the Week, while Dominican's Katrina Pistilli was named Rookie of the Week.
Beck and Timbrook both enjoyed outstanding weeks at the plate. Beck, a senior left fielder from Milton, NY, hit .485 in an 8-0 week with three home runs, 11 runs batted in and nine runs scored for the Chargers. She collected multiple hits in five games and had four hits and two home runs in game two of a double-header against Queens.
Timbrook, a junior infielder from Los Gatos, CA, hit .417 in a 9-2 week for the Cougars with 10 runs batted in, 10 doubles, two home runs and seven runs scored. She hit three doubles at Nyack.
Morgan, a junior righty from Clackamas, OR, went 3-0 last week, which was highlighted by a no-hitter against Felician. She allowed only one run and six hits with 21 strikeouts in 15.1 innings of work for the week. She held opponents to a .109 (6-for-55) batting average and did not walk a batter.
Pistilli, a freshman right-hander from Staten Island, NY, went 4-0 in five appearances on the week and did not allow a single earned run in 31 innings of work. She fanned 25 batters and walked only four. Furthermore, she threw a complete game 1-hitter against Bloomfield.

Brittany Pulido, Caldwell (So., RHP, Ojai, CA) - Went 3-1 with a 0.77 ERA last week with 25 K's and two walks in 36.1 IP.
Kim Lawrence, Wilmington (Jr., RHP, Wilmington, DE) - Went 2-0 last week with a 0.00 ERA against Felician and Nyack.
Dayna Phillips, USP (So., OF, Rosenhayn, NJ) - Hit .750 in 4-0 week with six runs, three RBI and three stolen bases.
Angela DiBeneditto, Holy Family (So., 5-7, Forest Hill, MD) - Hit .556 with three HR, five runs and seven RBI.
CACC Notes
Bloomfield - Bloomfield went 6-3 this week, including wins over regionally ranked Caldwell and NYIT. Amanda Bartels' home run against Caldwell accounted for all three runs in the 3-1 win. Brianne Moore picked up the win against both NYIT and Caldwell. Moore lost her first CACC game this year against Dominican. Moore also picked up her 100th career hit in a pinch hitting appearance against STAC. Senior Dominique Russo recorded her first career stolen base in BC's win over STAC. The Deacons set a new school record for wins in a season. The previous record for wins was 21 in 2006.
Caldwell - The Cougars suffered their first CACC losses of the season last week, losing to Holy Family on Monday and Bloomfield on Tuesday. Since then, Caldwell has reeled off eight straight wins, including CACC sweeps of Nyack, Felician and Chestnut Hill. On Sunday, Caldwell and AIC played 21 innings in a non-conference doubleheader, with the Cougars winning 2-1 in 12 innings and 8-5 in nine innings. The winning streak has the Cougars sitting atop the CACC standings with an 18-2 record. Caldwell entered the regional rankings last week at No. 5 in the latest NCAA East Region rankings, released Wednesday.
Felician - Junior 2B Hope Van Dyke had a consecutive games-played streak of 116 snapped when she missed Game 2 on Sunday versus St. Thomas Aquinas due to a hand injury. In that Game, sophomore P Stephanie Jimenez pitched her first collegiate shutout, and her team's first of the season, a two-hitter in a 6-0 win. With a grand slam in Game 1 against STAC, sophomore IF Lauren DeGrushe matched her freshman homerun total of six. Only one player in program history, Brittany Steiner, has hit more in a season.
Philadelphia - The Lady Rams are on a five-game slide, picking up just one win on the week. Freshman pitcher Ali Schmidt broke the 200 strikeout mark and sophomore outfield Jen Richard kept her bat hot, hitting .421 on the week. The Lady Rams have a packed schedule this week as they host GBC (4/22), HFU (4/23), Nyack (4/25) and Mercy (4/26).
USP - Rachel Morgan (Clackamas, Ore.) threw a no-hitter against
Felician on 4/18, the first no hitter ever at USP's McNeil Field.
Morgan won three games this week to move into third place on the
Devils all-time win list with 23 career wins. Rachel also became
the first USP pitcher to record 300 career strikeouts, reaching the
mark vs. Chestnut Hill; she now has 313 for her career. The Devils
have now won four straight games and pulled to .500 in league play
for the first time this season.. Sophomore Dayna Phillips
(Rosenhayn, N.J.) had 12 hits this week, the most ever in one week
by a USP softball player since the 2001 season. Junior Samantha Tu
(Trevose, Pa.)broke the USP single season record for doubles
hitting one against Chestnut Hill and giving her 12 for the season.
Junior Bethanne Bossert (Philadelphia, Pa.) broke the USP single
season mark for sacrifice hits with a SAC vs. Felician, giving her
12 for the season. Bossert also became just the fourth softball
player in school history to start 100 games, reaching the mark vs.
Chestnut Hill. Juniors Brittany Brown (Marlton, N.J.) and Mia
Crotti (Jessup, Pa.) also played in their 100th career games this
week. Brown, Tu, Phillips, Crotti and Bossert are all now ranked in
the top 15 on USP's all time career hits list with Brown (90, 7th
place) and Tu (88, 8th place) leading the way.
