NEW HAVEN, CT - Catherine Carr of Holy Family University has been tabbed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 1. Kaitlyn Lambert of Caldwell College was the pick for Rookie of the Week for the sixth time this season.
Carr, a 6-0 sophomore forward from Bernardsville, NJ, poured in 30 points in an 80-65 victory over Philadelphia in Holy Family's regular-season finale. She added six rebounds and three steals and shot 13-for-21 from the field and 3-for-4 from beyond the arc.
Lambert, a 5-9 freshman guard from Cumberland, RI, averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per-game in a 1-1 week for the Cougars. She shot 44.8-percent (13-for-29) from the field. She tallied 16 points, five rebounds and shot 7-for-14 in a victory over Dominican and added 14 points and four rebounds versus Philadelphia.

Stephanie Goss, Post (Sr., F, 5-9, Manchester, CT) - Tied a CACC record by going 10-for-10 from the field against Felician en route to 25 points.
Amelia Simmons, Wilmington (Jr., F, 5-11, Wilmington, DE) - Recorded 30 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks in a loss to USP.
Allison Weiss, USP (Sr., F, 6-1, Springfield, PA) -Posted 18 points, 11 rebounds and six assists in a victory over Wilmington.
Kellyn Nolan, Goldey-Beacom (Sr., F, 5-10, Waymart, PA) - Hit the game-winning shot vs. CHC and had 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
CACC Notes
Bloomfield - Tiffany McDaniel averaged 18.0 points and 10.5 rebounds in the Deacons' final week of the regular-season. In Thursday's loss to Pace, Shakiyrah Bishop scored a career high 11 points in the first start of her college career.
Caldwell - The Cougars took on two of the top teams in the conference last week, defeating CACC North champion Dominican 67-53 on Tuesday before suffering a narrow 80-78 loss to Philadelphia on Friday. Senior forward Mackenzie Lynch had a double-double in both games, giving her 16 this season and 37 for her career. Freshman guard Kaitlyn Lambert scored a team-high 16 points against Dominican, while sophomore guard Kirsty Leedham led the Cougars with 29 points against the Rams. Senior forward Janay Perkins matched her career best with 16 rebounds, and sophomore guard Abena George scored a career-high 12 points vs. Dominican. The Cougars will play at Bloomfield in the first round of the CACC Tournament.
Felician - Felician finished with a two-win improvement over the 2007-08 squad.
Goldey-Beacom - Senior forward Kellyn Nolan hit the game-winning shot against Chestnut Hill to finish out the Lightning season and her college basketball career.
Holy Family - Holy Family University closed out its regular-season with an 80-65 win over CACC foe Philadelphia University on February 24. Forward Catherine Carr led the Holy Family offense with a season-high 30 points. She needs just 56 points to reach 1,000 in her career. The Tigers finished CACC play with a perfect record for the fourth straight season (18-0 this year). Holy Family has won its last 85 consecutive regular season CACC games. Including, the post-season the Tigers have been victorious in its last 65 games against the CACC. Holy Family is currently second in the NCAA Division II East Region Rankings and 25th in the USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Coaches Poll. The Tigers are currently leading Division II in scoring defense (47.3 ppg allowed). Holy Family will begin its attempt at a third straight CACC crown with a home quarterfinal match-up against Wilmington (Del.) on Tuesday, beginning at 7 p.m.
Philadelphia - The Lady Rams finished the regular-season with a 80-78 road win at Caldwell. Sophomore guard Steph Agger had two clutch baskets, including a layup with three seconds remaining to seal the win. PhilaU hosts USP Tuesday at 6 PM in CACC Quarterfinal action.
USP - Junior Erin Chesnavich (Pittston, Pa.) moved into 9th
place on the Devils all-time scoring list with her 18-point
performance vs. Wilmington University, giving her 1,130 for her
career. Senior Allison Weiss (Springfield, Pa.) also moved up two
notches on USP's all-time scoring list with her 18-point effort at
Wilmington, jumping into 11th place on the list with 1,111 career
points. In the most recent NCAA statistics report (as of 3/1),
Chesnavich is ranked in the top 100 in four different categories,
11th in FG% (56.2%); 44th in rebounding (9.5) and 90th in scoring
(16.2) and 92nd in free throw percentage (81.3%). Weiss is ranked
10th in FT% (90.4%). As a team the Devils are ranked 18th in
scoring defense, allowing 57.0 points per game. USP is also 4th in
the nation in fewest personal fouls committed per game (13.1) and
31st nationally in field goal percentage defense, limiting
opponents to 36.4% shooting.
