RUTHERFORD, N.J. - High-school senior Jacqueline Passalacqua of Staten Island, N.Y., has signed a national letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Felician College, Golden Falcon head women's coach Steve Fagan announced today.
A 5-foot-4 guard, Passalacqua played for St. Peter's Girls teams that won Staten Island and archdiocesan championships. She was a Coach's Award and Senior Scholar-Athlete Award winner for the Eagles.
Passalacqua is also a member of the AAU New York City Heat. She intends to major in nursing at Felician.
"Jacqueline is a competitor and a winner," said Fagan, entering his second season. "She has the ability to shoot from long range, but doesn't mind mixing it up with bigger players and finishing in the paint. With her coming from Bob Daggett's program at St. Peter's, we know we're getting a quality person and a player who will compete for 40 minutes."
Felician is a member of the NCAA Division II Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The Golden Falcons will look to rebound from last year's 5-22 won-lost record.
