FREDERICK, INGRAM AND PEREZ NAMED TO DAKTRONICS ALL-REGION TEAM

NEW HAVEN, CT (March 11, 2009) -Three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's basketball student-athletes have been named to the Daktronics All-East Region team according to balloting released Wednesday. Sports Information Directors throughout the region conducted the voting. The Philadelphia junior duo of point guard Russell Frederick and forward Malcolm Ingram were second team picks along with Caldwell College senior forward Manny Perez.
Ingram, who hails from Philadelphia, PA, earns a spot on the second team for the second consecutive year, while Frederick, a native of Baltimore, MD, makes his first appearance on the All-Region squad. Both players were instrumental in leading the Rams to their third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, after winning their second consecutive CACC title this past weekend.
Ingram ranks second in the CACC in rebounding (8.3), and ninth in scoring (15.8) and field- goal percentage (.479). He was a first team All-Conference pick for the second straight season and was also selected to the CACC All-Tournament team this past weekend. Frederick stands second in the CACC in assists per-game (4.50), sixth in scoring (16.4), 12th in field-goal percentage (.458), 14th in free-throw percentage (.713), 12th in three-point field-goal percentage (.378) and seventh in three-pointers made per-game (2.07). Frederick was a first team All-CACC pick this season and was named Most Valuable Player of the 2008-09 CACC Tournament after leading his team to the championship.
Perez, a 6-7 senior forward from Egg Harbor Twp, NJ, averaged 18.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game to earn first team All-CACC accolades. He led the conference in field-goal percentage (.577) while ranking third in scoring and fourth in rebounding. He had 12 games with 20 or more points, and recorded six double-doubles. In his final game as a Cougar, Perez tallied 22 points, eight rebounds and three assists in a loss to Bloomfield College in the CACC Tournament first round. That performance earned him a spot on the CACC All-Tournament Team for the third time in his career.
