GCU Claims 2022 CACC MXC Championship

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (October 30, 2022) -- Led by three runners who finished among the top-15 in the individual standings, the Georgian Court University men’s cross-country team captured the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship with a first-place score of 59 points at the league championship race at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, Pa. on Sunday.
Caldwell University’s Joey Datta won the individual championship with an 8k time of 26:30.8, By winning the race he was rightfully titled CACC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Year.
HOW GEORGIAN COURT DID IT
Kyle Spector was the highest Lions runner in the race, placing fourth with a time of 27:39.0. Xavier Seals followed in seventh in a time of 27:50.6. Alec Valle finished tenth with a 27:59.1 for the Lions.
JEFFERSON’S STRONG SECOND-PLACE SHOWING
Thomas Jefferson University finished second with a score of 65 points. The Rams also had three runners finish in the top-15 of the individual standings. Owen Bradley finished second overall in the race in a time of 27:22.3. Tyler Daley followed with a ninth-place finish with a 27:56.2. Leonard Bustos finished 14th with a 28:18.5.

In all, eight schools were represented on the All-CACC Team. The top-15 finishers in the individuals standings earned all-conference status. In addition to the seven runners listed above, the eight remaining All-CACC Honorees Included:

-Vaughn Lackman (Wilmington) 6th, 27:48.9 (CACC Rookie of the Year)

-Zachary Landvik-Lars (Goldey-Beacom) 11th, 28:04.3
-Dan Wyshinski (Wilmington) 12th, 28:10.3
-Anthony Faust (Holy Family) 13th, 28:14.1
-Daniel Chinchilla (Felician) 15th, 28:22.5
