USP WINS FIRST-EVER CACC WOMEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP

COLTS NECK, NJ - The University of Sciences in Philadelphia has won the first-ever Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Womens Tennis Championship with a 6-3 victory this afternoon over Georgian Court University at the Colts Neck Racquet Club in Colts Neck, NJ.

As a result of winning the conference crown, the Devils have earned a bid to the 2006 NCAA Division II Womens Tennis Championships, which will take place this spring.

The Devils, the third seed in the tournament, took two of the three doubles points to start the day, including a thrilling 8-6 victory at third doubles. The Devils then received wins in second, third, fourth and sixth singles to wrap up the title over the top-seeded Lions.

The season will conclude on October 22 and 23 with the CACC Individual Championships, which will also be held at the Colts Neck Racquet Club. More information about that event will be released later this week.
