PHILADELPHIA'S SARA HALL NAMED CACC WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Nov 3, 2008

NEW HAVEN--Philadelphia University senior goalkeeper Sara Hall has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Soccer Player of the Year in balloting released today. Freshman forward Kelly Lyons of Georgian Court University claimed Rookie of the Year honors while Philadelphia head coach George Dunbar and Caldwell College's Nate Guagliardi were named co-Coaches of the Year. Bloomfield College was given the annual Team Sportsmanship Award.

Hall, a senior from Newark, DE, has been named to the All-CACC first team for three straight seasons and currently leads the conference with a 1.08 goals-against average. She also stands second in save percentage (.847) and shutouts (5). Hall will lead the top-seeded Lady Rams during this week's CACC Tournament.

Lyons, who hails from Jackson, NJ, has made an immediate impact for the Lions, as she is tied for the conference-lead in goals with 20 and ranks second with 43 points and five game-winning goals. She also gets off the third-most shots per game in the CACC, with 3.60 per contest. Georgian Court is the No. 2 seed for this week's CACC Tournament.

Philadelphia head coach George Dunbar and Caldwell's Nate Guagliardi share the Coach of the Year honor after leading their teams to successful campaigns in 2008. Dunbar, who is in his ninth year as head coach for the Lady Rams, led his team to a CACC regular-season championship with an 8-0-3 record this season. Caldwell is the fourth seed for the CACC Tournament after going 7-3-1 in conference play. Guagliardi is in his second season with the Cougars.
