O'NEILL LEADS HOLY FAMILY TO CACC WOMEN'S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP

RUTHERFORD, NJ - Holy Family junior midfielder Maureen O'Neill scored three goals to lead the Tigers to a 3-0 victory over Goldey-Beacom in the 2005 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Womens Soccer Championship game today at Tryon Field in Rutherford, NJ. For her efforts, O'Neill was named the tournament Most Valuable Player.

O'Neill didnt wait long to score, as she put her team on the scoreboard just 49 seconds into the contest off a pass from sophomore midfielder Joanna Hampton.

Lightning junior forward April Yanacek, who created numerous scoring opportunities for her team throughout the match, narrowly missed the equalizer when she hit the crossbar with a shot at the 23:54 mark. O'Neill responded with her second goal of the game in the 38th minute, with the assists being credited to freshman forward Jamie Wallace and senior defender Colleen Gregory.

O'Neill finished up the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 88th minute. Holy Family out-shot Goldey-Beacom, 18-7.

Holy Family improves to 13-7-2 with the win, while Goldey-Beacom is now 10-11.
