Jefferson WBB Earns #4 Seed in NCAA Regional Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – The Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball team will make its sixth straight trip to the NCAA Division II Tournament as the Rams drew the fourth seed for the NCAA East Regional to be played March 15-18 at Bentley University in Waltham, Mass. The bracket was announced late Sunday night on NCAA.com.
The Rams (30-1) will take on fifth seed at-large bid Southern New Hampshire University (17-10) in the region quarterfinals on March 15 at 7:30 p.m. Jefferson and Southern New Hampshire competed against each other in last year's region semifinals where the Rams beat the Penmen 62-48 to advance to the East Region Finals. Jefferson is 2-0 against SNHU all time.
The Rams won their fifth CACC Championship on Sunday with a 61-39 win over Chestnut Hill College. This is the 15th NCAA Tournament appearance for Jefferson in program history, with 13th coming from head coach Tom Shirley. Southern New Hampshire fell in the NE10 quarterfinals to Franklin Pierce. This is the fifth visit to the NCAA Tournament by the Pennmen, with this being their third consecutive appearance.
